This Prognathodon Mosasaur Skull Fossil is a truly impressive and authentic specimen, measuring a full 60 cm (23.6 inches) in length. Hailing from the renowned Phosphate Deposits of Khouribga, Morocco, this skull represents the peak of the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 66 million years ago.

This exceptional and carefully prepared skull of prognathodon measures approximately 68 cm in length. prognathodon was a more streamlined and agile marine reptile, unlike the larger mosasaurs. It thrived in the Late Cretaceous seas, known particularly for its speed and hunting prowess.

What makes prognathodon notable is its slender, hydrodynamic skull. It possesses sharp, conical teeth perfectly adapted for catching fast-moving prey like fish and squid. This distinguishes the genus from the more robust Mosasaurus or Tylosaurus. The skull exhibits delicate cranial features, including a well-defined bone structure and an elongated jaw. This faithfully reflects the animal’s specialized predatory lifestyle. Skilled preparators have preserved the fossil’s natural textures and anatomical details with minimal restoration, maintaining both its scientific and aesthetic integrity.
