This remarkable fossil for sale Complete Mosasaurus skull once belonged to a formidable 35-foot predator, measuring 47″ ! Mosasaurus, ancient reptiles that roamed the seas some 70 million years ago during the Cretaceous era, gained significant fame after their appearance in the Hollywood blockbuster, Jurassic World.

With hinged jaws capable of expanding to engulf large prey, including other mosasaurs, sea turtles, and sharks, these creatures were formidable hunters. Their upper jaws boasted two sets of razor-sharp teeth, including curved ones that effectively ensnared their victims. Astonishingly, both sets of teeth are preserved in this exceptional mosasaur fossil.

Researchers found the first Mosasaurus Skull for sale fossils near the Meuse River in Germany in 1764, but this recent discovery originates from North Africa. Mosasaurus were top predators in ancient oceans, with jaw strength surpassing even the largest crocodiles and doubling the length of a Great White shark.

Mosasaurus were a group of large, predatory marine reptiles that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 to 66 million years ago. They were closely related to modern-day monitor lizards and snakes. Mosasaurs had long, streamlined bodies adapted for life in the water, with powerful jaws and teeth for catching prey.

Despite living during the Cretaceous Period, it’s essential to note that Mosasaurs are relatives of monitor lizards like the Komodo dragon, not dinosaurs.
