Exceptional Hainosaurus boubker Skull — the T-Rex of the Sea — Rare Dinosaur Fossils for Sale
This is a Hainosaurus boubker Skull — a RARE Fossil from one of the largest and most powerful mosasaurs to have ruled the ancient Late Cretaceous seas. This Moroccan fossil features excellent preservation, highlighting the formidable anatomy of this apex marine predator.
Â
Species: Hainosaurus boubker
Coloration: Deep fossilized hues of dark charcoal, slate gray, and subtle hints of ochre
Condition: Exceptional detail with prominent bone texture, light restoration, and natural patina enhancing authenticity
This exceptional and carefully restored skull of Hainosaurus boubker measures an impressive 120 cm in length. Unlike most mosasaur skulls on the market, it belongs to a rare tylosaurine species — a group of large, powerful marine reptiles that truly dominated the seas as apex predators.
What makes Hainosaurus boubker particularly remarkable is its distinctive blade-like teeth. These teeth, laterally compressed and marked by clear enamel facet differentiation along the jawline, set it apart from more common genera such as Prognathodon or Platecarpus. Consequently, they suggest a highly specialized predatory lifestyle.
Moreover, the skull displays strong cranial architecture, featuring robust jaw bones and deep-set sockets that clearly reflect the animal’s formidable strength and bite force. Skilled preparators restored the fossil with precision and care, preserving its natural textures and enhancing key anatomical features without excessive overworking.
MosasaurusÂ
Despite living during the Cretaceous Period, it’s essential to note that Mosasaurs are relatives of monitor lizards like the Komodo dragon, not dinosaurs.
Finding a skull of this size and quality is a rare event. It’s an excellent educational tool for both kids and adults, highly sought after by collectors, museums, and galleries. It would also make an impressive centerpiece in any public or corporate space.
This superbly preserved skull, complete with its original teeth, underwent careful extraction from the rock and received minimal restoration (~19%).
