.
Renowned for its appearance in the Hollywood blockbuster Jurassic World, the Mosasaur has captivated the imagination of millions. Now, you can own a piece of this incredible history. Whether for display in a museum, private collection, or educational institution, this meticulously preserved fossil is a testament to the awe-inspiring creatures of our planet’s distant past.
Approximately 69% of this skeleton is fully authentic fossil material, with professional restoration applied where necessary to ensure structural integrity and presentation.
With hinged jaws capable of expanding to engulf large prey, including other mosasaurs, sea turtles, and sharks, these creatures were formidable hunters. Their upper jaws boasted two sets of razor-sharp teeth, including curved ones that effectively ensnared their victims. Both sets of teeth are preserved in this exceptional Mosasaur fossil.
Researchers first discovered Mosasaurus fossils near the Meuse River in Germany in 1764, but this specimen originates from North Africa. Mosasaurus were top predators in ancient oceans, with jaw strength surpassing even the largest crocodiles and more than double the bite length of a Great White shark.
Mosasaurus were a group of large predatory marine reptiles that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 to 66 million years ago. They were closely related to modern-day monitor lizards and snakes, with long, streamlined bodies perfectly adapted for life in the water, equipped with powerful jaws and teeth for catching prey.
Mosasaurus
Although Mosasaurs lived during the Cretaceous Period, it’s important to note that they are relatives of modern monitor lizards, such as the Komodo dragon, rather than dinosaurs.
Specimens of this size and quality are extremely rare. They serve as exceptional educational tools for both adults and children and are highly sought after by collectors, museums, and galleries. Such a piece also makes an impressive centerpiece in any public or corporate display.
This superbly preserved skull, complete with its original teeth, was carefully extracted from the rock and underwent minimal restoration (~21%) to maintain authenticity and structural integrity.
Our collection includes a wide range of high-quality Mosasaur fossils, including full skeletons, jaws, individual bones, and teeth.
We provide comprehensive shipping services, including free crating and packing, and can arrange worldwide delivery to ensure your fossil arrives safely.
